Ingredients
    For the Chicken Marinade
  • 100 grams boneless chicken pieces
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For the Changezi Masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1 green cardamom
  • 1 clove
  • 1/8 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • For the Gravy
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, pureed
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cream or milk
  • Salt to taste
Instructions
    Prepare the Changezi Masala
  1. Dry roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, cardamom, clove, and black peppercorns on low heat until fragrant.
  2. Let them cool, then grind into a fine powder. Set aside.
  3. Marinate the Chicken
  4. In a bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, and salt.
  5. Add the chicken pieces, mix well, and marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Cook the Chicken
  7. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  8. Add onions and cook until golden brown.
  9. Add the marinated chicken and cook for about 5 minutes, or until it starts to turn light brown.
  10. Add pureed tomato, turmeric powder, and the prepared Changezi masala.
  11. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oil begins to separate from the masala.
  12. Lower the heat, add fresh cream or milk, and mix well. Cook for another 5 minutes until the gravy thickens.
  13. Serve
  14. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.

  • Cream Option: Substitute fresh cream with thick yogurt for a healthier alternative.
  • Adjust Spice Level: Modify the red chili powder and black pepper to suit your taste preference.
