Masala Chai is a comforting, spiced Indian tea, perfect for chilly days. It combines the warmth of ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, star anise, and black pepper.
In a small saucepan, add water, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, star anise, and black pepper. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add the loose black tea or tea bag and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
Pour in the milk and add sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 2 more minutes.
Strain the chai into a cup and enjoy hot.
