Ingredients
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon loose black tea
  • 1/2 ginger, grated
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 2 cardamom pods, crushed
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 star anise
  • 4 black peppercorns
  • 2 sugar (to taste)
Instructions
  1. *Boil Spices*:

    In a small saucepan, add water, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, star anise, and black pepper. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.

  2. *Add Tea*:

    Add the loose black tea or tea bag and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes.

  3. *Add Milk and Sugar*:

    Pour in the milk and add sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 2 more minutes.

  4. *Strain and Serve*:

    Strain the chai into a cup and enjoy hot.

  • Adjust the spice levels to suit your taste. For a creamier texture, use whole milk.
