Ingredients
  • 1 serving of spaghetti (about 2 ounces)
  • 1 cup smooth marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving some pasta water.
  2. While the spaghetti is cooking, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the smooth marinara sauce and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld together. If the sauce becomes too thick, you can thin it out with a bit of reserved pasta water.
  5. Once the sauce is ready, add the cooked spaghetti to the pan with the sauce. Toss well to coat the spaghetti evenly with the sauce.
  6. Transfer the spaghetti and sauce to a plate or bowl.
  7. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
Note
  • Feel free to add cooked ground beef or turkey for extra protein.
  • You can also sneak in finely chopped vegetables like carrots, onions, or bell peppers into the sauce for added nutrition.
