Ingredients
    Ingredients (for 1 serving)
  • 100 grams Whole chicken pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Yogurt (dahi)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 Charcoal
  • For Garnish
  • Fresh coriander leaves a few sprigs
  • Onion slices a few rings
  • 1 Lemon halves
  • Special Masala (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garam masala
Instructions
    Prepare the Chicken
  1. Make deep cuts in the chicken pieces to allow the marinade to seep in.
  2. Marinate
  3. In a bowl, mix yogurt, red chili powder, turmeric, ginger-garlic paste, and salt.
  4. Rub this mixture well onto the chicken, ensuring it coats each piece thoroughly.
  5. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.
  6. Cook the Chicken
  7. Heat oil and butter in a pan over medium heat. Place the marinated chicken in the pan.
  8. Cook each side until golden brown, about 10-12 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  9. Add Smoky Flavor
  10. Heat the charcoal piece on an open flame until it glows red.
  11. Place a small steel bowl or foil in the center of the cooked chicken dish, add the hot charcoal to the bowl, pour a few drops of oil over it, and immediately cover with a lid.
  12. Allow it to smoke for 2-3 minutes, then remove the charcoal.
  13. Garnish and Serve
  14. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves, onion rings, and lemon wedges.
  15. Sprinkle a pinch of chaat masala and garam masala over the chicken, if desired, before serving.
Note
  • Use fresh yogurt for a creamier marinade.
  • Adjust the chili powder for desired spice level.
  • To enhance the smoky effect, repeat the charcoal smoking step if needed.
  • Adding a pinch of chaat masala before serving elevates the flavor.
  • Marinate the chicken overnight for deeper flavors if time allows.
  • Ensure the pan is hot before adding the chicken to get a crisp exterior.
  • Use a lid when smoking the chicken for best results.
